Mirrors in Feng Shui: The Double-Edged Sword

Mirrors are the most powerful Feng Shui tool — and the most misused. They double whatever they reflect, good or bad.

Where to Place Mirrors

LocationEffect
Dining room (reflecting the table)Doubles abundance
Entryway (side wall, not facing door)Expands welcoming energy
Dark hallwayBrightens and activates chi
Bedroom (inside closet door)Hidden when sleeping, available when needed

Where NOT to Place Mirrors

  • Directly facing the front door (bounces good energy back out)
  • Reflecting the bed (disrupts sleep and relationships)
  • Reflecting clutter or a messy area (doubles the mess)
  • In the kitchen (reflecting the stove creates fire element overload)
  • On the ceiling (creates unstable, anxious energy)
Before hanging any mirror, ask: "What will this reflect?" If the answer isn't something beautiful, move it.
